Nevada Social Studies Programs

Holocaust Education:  The Nevada Holocaust Education Task Force (HETF) offers opportunities for teachers to learn more about teaching about the Holocaust and contemporary genocides.  In the fall, there is a 1 1/2 day workshop for teachers only.  Then teachers who participate in that workshop are eligible to bring up to 4 students to listen to a Holocaust survivor in the Spring.
National History Day in Nevada: National History Day in Nevada (NVHD) is a program yearlong program wherein students meet social studies standards through indepth research on a historical topic of their choice (based on an annual theme determined by the national NHD organization).
